Northern State Recreation Area (NSRA)

We’ll meet at the NSRA parking area on Helmick Rd. just east of Sedro Woolley on the north side of SR 20 and walk the trails along both sides of Hansen Creek.  American Bitterns, Sora and Virginia Rails, Marsh Wrens and Common Yellowthroats are possibilities, as are Tree Swallows, Mountain Bluebirds, Townsend’s Solitaires and other early neotropical migrants.  Please wear sturdy, waterproof walking shoes and be prepared for wet and cold.  Leader:  John Day; home phone 360.856.0644; cell phone 360.854.8415; email

Skagit Audubon Society holds monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month except for the months of July and August. We meet at 7:00 pm at Padilla Bay Interpretive Center(Google map), 10441 Bayview-Edison Rd. Mount Vernon. Meetings are open to all.

The board of directors meets at the same location at 7:00 pm on the first Tuesday of each month, except for the months of July and August.
