Watching birds, protecting habitat, connecting with nature

Port Susan Bay and Leque Island

Date: Sat. 21 Oct, 2017 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Duration: 4 Hours

Explore the Port Susan Bay Nature Conservancy property (restricted access) and Leque Island (Eide Rd.) to check the birds that are present.  Expect to see snow geese, swans, waterfowl, winter shorebirds, raptors, and some songbirds.  There are often surprises at both places this time of year.  Expect to walk a mile or two on easy terrain.  Dress for the weather and scopes are a plus.  Group (no-host) lunch at a Stanwood restaurant afterwards.  Discover Pass required for parking at Eide Rd./Leque Island.  Meet at QFC in Stanwood (near the Starbucks) at 8 am to carpool.  Leaders:  Pam Pritzl and Jeff Osmundson.  Pam Pritzl, birdsightings@skagitaudubon.org, 360.387.7024.
