Note: This hike will be canceled if there have been or will be heavy rains and/or snow. Hike to the old, historic mining townsite of Monte Cristo east of Granite Fallsbeginning and ending at Barlow Pass, elv 2,400 ft. 4 miles one way to old townsite, 400 ft e lv gain in 4 miles.  South Fork of Sauk River must be crossed by a foot log or by fording. Meet at 7:30 am at the Mount Vernon
Safeway parking lot. Snohomish county residents may drive directly to the trailhead. Check WA Trails Association web site for driving information or contact Joan Melcher above.

Skagit Audubon Society holds monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month except for the months of July and August. We meet at 7:00 pm at Padilla Bay Interpretive Center(Google map), 10441 Bayview-Edison Rd. Mount Vernon. Meetings are open to all.

The board of directors meets at the same location at 7:00 pm on the first Tuesday of each month, except for the months of July and August.
