HOYPUS POINT, HOYPUS HILL*, and ALA SPIT (Wed. May 4, 2022 9:00 am)

Many hike opportunities on Hoypus Point.  To Ala Spit via the most direct trail route and back is 6.5 miles.  Other trails can be added to increase the mileage for the day.  This hike is selected on this day because the tide will be falling to a low of  -1.1 foot about 2 pm and hikers should be able to access the Spit before then.  The Hoypus areas are in Deception Pass State Park. Meet at 9:00 a.m. at the trailhead at Cornet Bay in Deception Pass State Park.  Moderate difficulty.  Cornet Bay has docking facilities and a rest room.  NOTE:    THE WA STATE DISCOVER PASS IS REQUIRED TO PARK ON PARK PROPERTY.  You may leave when your carload is back to trailhead.   Most people return between 12:30 and 1 pm.  NOTE:  HAVE EAR PROTECTION WITH YOU IN CASE THE WHIDBEY JETS ARE FLYING LOW AND LOUD
