Whitehorse Trail (Wed. May 11, 2022 9:00 am)

MAY 11    WHITEHORSE TRAIL   This rails-to-trails trail, a Snohomish County Park, spans over 27 miles between Arlington and Darrington running through the North Stillagumish River Valley and paralleling SR 530.  The hike will begin at a huge, concrete parking lot right at milepost 32 on SR 530.  From here easterly it is 5.3 miles one way to the Oso land slide and memorial and 17.2 miles one way to Darrington.  It is 3 miles westerly one way to an old railroad bridge converted to trail over the Stillaguamish River.  Meet at 9 am at the parking lot at milepost 32 on SR 530, north side of the road.  (Drive east from Arlington.)  Ride pooling also from the Mount Vernon Safeway parking lot at 8 am.  It takes about 45 minutes to drive from Mount Vernon to milepost 32 on SR 530.  No specific return time.    Lunch at Rhodes River Ranch after the hike?

Skagit Audubon Society holds monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month except for the months of July and August. We meet at 7:00 pm at Padilla Bay Interpretive Center (Google map), 10441 Bayview-Edison Rd. Mount Vernon. Meetings are open to all.

The board of directors meets at the same location at 7:00 pm on the first Tuesday of each month, except for the months of July and August.
