Saturday, Feb. 1 – Barnum Point County Park (Camano Island) – 12:30 pm-3:30 pm
Trip Leader: Tom Hiegler; contact Colleen, fieldtrips@skagitaudubon.org
Pre-registration required: see below for registration information
Meet at the parking area of Barnum Point Park at 12:30 pm. There is limited parking there so carpool if you can. We will limit the trip to 12 people due to parking. Be ready to see any number of seabirds who have returned to the Salish Sea for the winter. We have been known to see up to 600 Barrow’s Goldeneyes there. We will hike about a half mile through fir forests to arrive at Triangle Cove, so we will also be able to hear and view forest species. Dress for the weather and muddy trails. If you haven’t been to Barnum Point you are in for a real treat. It is not an accessible area.
