Wednesday April 16 Whitehorse Tail
8 am to 2 pm. Easy. Mileage is up to individual hikers. Dogs allowed on leash. No pass required.
This rails-to-trails to trail, a Snohomish County Park, spans over 27 miles between Arlington and Darrington running through the North Stillaguamish River Valley and paralleling SR 530. The hike will begin at a huge, concrete parking lot right at milepost 32 on SR 530. From here easterly it is 5.3 miles one way to the Oso land slide and memorial and 17.2 miles one way to Darrington. It is 3 miles westerly one way to an old railroad bridge converted to trail over the Stillaguamish River. Meet at the Mount Vernon Safeway parking lot at 8 am or at 9 am at the parking lot at milepost 32 on SR 530, north side of the road.
