SEPTEMBER 18  YELLOW ASTER BUTTE* Northwest Forest Parking Pass required. This is a wilderness hike (limit groups to 12 pairs of eyes). 7.5 miles round trip to the summit of the butte with 2550 ft of elevation gain; 4.2 miles round trip to Gold Rush Pass with 1860 ft of elevation gain. Lower part of trail in forest; upper part in the open. 4.5miles of gravel road to the trailhead. This trail is rated as hard. Meet at 7:30 am at the Sedro-Woolley food Pavilion parking lot, where maps will be handed out. 3:30 pm return. Everyone is to wait for all to return safely before leaving.
