“ADAPTIVE ESTUARY RESTORATION OF THE PORT SUSAN BAY RESERVE”, Presented by Amber Parmenter, Stewardship Manager for The Nature Conservancy
Please join us for our first Zoom meeting of the year with a deep delve into habitat restorations with a presentation by Amber Parmenter. Amber is the Puget Sound Stewardship Manager for the Nature Conservancy in Washington. She is responsible for on-the-ground stewardship activities in the Puget Sound region of Western Washington. She will speak on how monitoring for effectiveness can inform management decisions to maximize habitat function for juvenile salmonids.
Amber draws from her background in ecology to implement stewardship decisions that promote habitat health and resiliency while connecting communities to the land. Prior to joining The Nature Conservancy, Amber worked as a wildlife biologist for a non-profit land trust in Northern California. In that role, Amber managed preserves with a variety of different habitat types ranging from threatened vernal pool landscapes to oak woodland savannahs for special status species like burrowing owls and fairy shrimp. Amber received both her Master of Science in Conservation Biology as well as her Bachelor of Science in Zoology from San Francisco State University in California.
