Pine and Cedar Lakes OR Lake Padden

March 20: Pine and Cedar Lakes or Lake Padden (Whatcom Parks & Rec)

Pine and Cedar Lakes: A moderate to strenuous 5-mile hike with an elevation gain of approximately 1,500 feet through a shady forest to two small lakes with views to Mount Baker and Puget Sound.

Lake Padden: A number of hike options are available from 3.6 to 6.7 or more miles. Easy to moderate difficulty with low to moderate elevation gain depending on the trails taken. Printable maps will be provided ahead of time via email; a few will be available at sign-in.

For both hikes, meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Chuckanut Park and Ride [999 N Burlington Blvd, Burlington, WA 98233 / exit 231 from I-5 on the east side of I-5] to sign in and arrange carpools. Those who are hiking Lake Padden may then leave and hike whichever trails they wish. The rest of the hikers will carpool and drive to the Pine and Cedar Lakes Trailhead on Old Samish Road.

No passes required for either hike. Dogs allowed on leash. You may leave when your group returns to the car.
