Meet at 8:00 am at Sedro-Woolley Food Pavilion. This hike begins and ends near the North Cascade Institute above Diablo Dam.  Hike 2.9 miles (about 800 ft elevation gain) east to the Ross Dam Viewpoint near the power lines or 4.1 miles (about 1600 ft elevation gain) east to the Skagit River.   Great views of the Skagit River Gorge along the way. Be sure to check for ticks after the hike. Difficulty: easy if going to the overlook; moderate if going down to the river and crossing the bridge. Return to cars by 2:00 pm. Everyone is to wait for all to return safely before leaving.
